SMDC 2006 X'Mas Party - Hosted by the Jin's

Sophia and Jerry were very thoughtful of inviting all SMDC members and some of SMDC's friends to their home to celerate Christmas. It was highlighted with good food, good company, lots of laughs, lots of warm conversation, and interesting Karaoke.

Of course, there were some pictures taken next to the Jin's Christmas Tree to mark the celebration.

Good Food, Good Company, Lots of Laugh and Warm Conversation - 2006 X'mas Party

As Always, we had great food. It was a potluck dinner.

We all brought our favorite dish and everyone enjoyed it.

The only problem was trying to control how much we ate.

These pictures are evidence of everyone's enjoyment of the good food and good company.

Interesting Karaoke during 2006 X'mas Party

Recently we found out that there are lots of SMDC members having singing talent. Just naming a few like Denny, Isabel, Sophia, Peggy, John, Victor, Jenny, Georgina, Ben, Craig, Robert and many more.

Whith Victor's help, Sophia and Jerry upgraded their Karaoke system recently. It was the first time we were singing with their new system. It is a good system. Once you started singing with it, it is very hard to give up the Mic.

Highlight of the evening was Robert's imiatation of "Kuo Ling Fung" singing "Winter's Fire Torch". Robert not only imitated the singing, he also imitated the acting and dancing. It was great!

We started with Chinese oldies, to modern Chinese songs, and then moved on to English oldies. We were singing till 2AM in the morning.

Grand Princess Mediterranean Cruise

6 SMDC couples and our friend MaryAnn and Doug went to the Grand Princess Mediterranean Cruise. It was a 17 days, 10 cities, 5 countries tour with lots of fun. Please see the following linked blog for the detail.

Corrina & Edward's Daughter Lynn's Wedding

Corrina and Edward invited all SMDC members to celebrate their daughter Lynn's wedding on September 3, 2006. Lynn married to So at InterContinental Hotel, Houston, TX. Everyone had a great time. We felt and shared all the happiness of the Huang's family.

It was highlighted with elegant ceremony, beatiful receiption, great food, nice music, huge dance floor and happiness in the air throughout the evening.

Flora and Jin's Home Coming to Houston

Our dear friends Flora and Jin came back to visit Houston from Shanghai in August. We were able to book an evening out of their busy schedule and had a wonderful gathering on August 28, 2006. It was Fajitas Night in Pappasito's on Richmond.

Most of SMDC members who know Flora and Jin were participated this gathering. It is the 1st time we see Jin since he moved to Shanghai 3 years ago. He still looks the same as you can witness it from these pictures.

Flora was in Houston last year, however, it is always a pleasure to see her again.

Picture worths thousand words. These pictures show how happy we were to have this rare opportunity to see them in Houston.

By the way, several of us went to Wild Wild West to do some two-steps after the dinner. We had a great time!

Congradulation to Senior I Championship Ten Dance Champion - Corrina and Edward

Corrina and Edward went to San Jose to compete in the National Ameture Ballroom Dance over the weekend of August 12. They did extremely well and recieved 1st place for the Senior I Division Ten Dance competition.
